Third-degree burns from an unguarded steam pipe
Our client fainted in his apartment on the way to the bathroom, and his left shoulder came to rest against a hot steam pipe.
His primary care physician diagnosed second-degree burns; a dermatologist subsequently determined they were third-degree, as he had lost feeling in the area. He was treated with creams rather than a skin graft and is left with permanent scarring.
Injuries and treatment
- Third-degree burns to the left shoulder
- Permanent scarring
- Loss of sensation
