Bunched-up floor mat at a national electronics retailer

Our client was leaving a national electronics retailer when she tripped on a floor mat that had bunched up. She fell forward onto her left knee and struck her forehead on a shopping cart. A store employee was stationed within view of where she tripped. Her knee was painful and began to swell, and she reported the incident to the store, which made a report.

She sustained a severe bone bruise and meniscal damage to the left knee and ultimately underwent a total knee replacement, along with bruising to her forehead.
