Criminal Mischief & Attempted Assault Dismissed After Voluntary Surrender

Our client was alleged to have damaged property, including a door frame and a guitar, during a domestic dispute with her husband, leading to charges of criminal mischief and attempted assault. When the NYPD sought to take her into custody, Attorney Steven Brill arranged a voluntary surrender, sparing our client the added distress and exposure of an arrest at her home or workplace.

Following the surrender, our office opened a dialogue with the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office and worked closely with our client’s husband, who ultimately expressed to prosecutors that he did not wish to pursue the charges. Based on that input, the District Attorney agreed to drop the case entirely.
